Welcome to TOM’S Web Site!

My name is Thomas Muster and I’d like to introduce myself to you. For those of you who did not follow my active tennis career will have a chance to find out all the interesting details about it in this website. However many of you do still know me from my active tennis career and have spent hours in front of the television watching me or even joined in as a spectator in one of many beautiful stadiums on this planet.

Even if this is some time ago now, I would still like to thank you very much for all your support. After 15 tough pro years, millions of flight miles and hundreds of different hotels, slowly but surely my mental and physical limits were slowly overtaken so that in 1999 I played the last match of my ATP career at the French Open against Nicolas Lapentti. These wear-and-tear signs also caused me to suffer a sort of burn-out syndrome.

So what next?

After three years of professional abstinence the desire for new challenges ripened within meagain.
With the same enthusiasm and ambition as at the start of my tennis career in January 2003, I started to train – with a lot of private support – for the Champions Tour in Seiersberg. I lost 23 kilos and got myself back into shape.
With my definitive return to Austria in August 2003, new professional doors opened to me and I was able to fulfil my dream of my own fashion label – TOMS.

The name had been registered and protected in 1995 when Kneissl developed a tennis racquet called TOMS MACHINE, which was launched onto the market in 1996. After a very successful start to the fashion label, I realized that I needed to bring textile sector professionals on board to place the design, production and sales/distribution in professional hands. Together with the former Palmers subsidiary “Gloriette” as the producer, a designer and the ARPP Trading Company as a sales and distribution partner we presented our first summer collection in Vienna in spring 2005 and to coincide with the Champions Tour in Graz in 2005 we opened our first TOMS-Shop in the Seiersberg Shopping Center.

After long negotiations with the diocese of Graz-Seckau, I was able to acquire the Hochkittenberg wine-estate in spring 2004. The top part of the Kittenberg, the Hochkittenberg, is located about 500 metres above sea level and is bordered by a huge band of trees. The south-facing slope is steeply sloping and opposite there is a somewhat flatter undulating high plateau. The interplay between ancient, finely foliaceous shale soil, the high location and the adjacent belt of trees provides a unique micro-climate and an unmistakeably characteristic wine terroir. The vineyard, which is eight hectares in size is cultivated by my friend, the exceptional vintner, Manfred Tement. In May 2005, the first TOMS Hochkittenberg was launched by Tement. The huge demand and the fantastic assessments were proof for me that I was moving along the right path.

However: Where would a good wine be without good water?

Also in Spring 2005, as a result of an informal discussion with the managing director of Fresh Water GmbH, Peter Lindmoser, the opportunity arose to produce high-quality Alpine spring water under licence from the Styrian Hochschwab area called TOMS WATER.
As I myself am from the Styria region I thought this was an excellent idea and we worked hard to make this high-quality, oxygen-rich Alpine spring water accessible to many people.

Since as a former successful tennis player I am not able to totally keep away from tennis and accordingly need good materials to play, we have rejuvenated TOMS MACHINE from 1996 and it has undergone further development. The new racquet developed in cooperation with the company Kneissl was introduced at the Davis Cup tie between Austria and Croatia in February in Unterpremstätten near Graz.

At this point I would like to give my sincerest thanks to all the people working in the TOMS family for all their support, development work and assistance.
I must also express my thanks to my parents and friends for all their support, affection and help.
I hope you have a lot of fun reading through this website. I would count myself lucky if you were to have as much enjoyment from our products as I do and also become a member of the TOMS-Family.

Yours sincerely

Thomas Muster
